My parents grew up in the Jim Crow South—Alabama in the 1950s and 60s—where racism wasn’t hidden, and opportunity had to be carved out with grit and faith. They faced closed doors with dignity, used education as a way up, and built a stable, loving, middle-class life for our family.
Because of their sacrifices and strength, I’ve led global teams across three continents at Microsoft and proudly launchedLuminous Leaders — a space for bold, compassionate, and equity-driven leadership.
Everything I do —pushing for access, opportunity, and justice in tech — is deeply rooted in what they taught me:
🧠 Discipline // ❤️ Care // 💪🏽 Courage // 👨🏾👩🏾👧🏾 Family
We’re proud of each other. They explore the world as lifelong learners. I carry their lessons forward, building global equity and impact and hopefully leaving this world better than I found it.
